Hello beautiful ♡
I hope your week has been as fabulous as you are, as it is well deserved, you're one of a kind.
Today's blog is coming at you from my bed. Messy hair, pajamas, no makeup and all. In fact, this blog post is about the makeup I rocked yesterday and how to predict the best colors for YOU.
Well first things first. Did you know that you learned basic color theory for makeup back in elementary when mixing water colors and learning complementary colors on the color wheel? No? To be honest, me either until later in life when color wheels were actually pulled out again and used for a basic makeup practice. You quite frankly may thank me later. Anyway, for this look you certainly can see how my eyes look the bluer (haha) than normal right? Wanna know why? Because I used a peach/orange color palette. Orange is the complementary color to blue, so by wearing it my eyes were complimented and I am saying, "thank you."
So, with that being said I challenge you this week to play with complementary colors. Don't know them? Google color wheel online and your mind will be Blown!
Next things next.
What am I wearing?
Moisturizer- Algenist Multi Pore Corrector
Foundation- Becca Ever Matte (Buff)
Concealer- Cover girl ready, set, gorgeous in light. I prefer Urban Decays Naked concealer
Contour- Kat Von D Shade and Light
Hilight- Kat Von D Shade and Light as well as Champagne Pop by Becca
Blush- Urban Decay "Score" and Nars "Orgasm" on top
Mascara- Dior Lash Primer and Benefit Rollerlash
Eyeliner- Kat Von D liquid in Trooper for upper lashline and ELF kajal for lower lash line
Lips- OCC Lipliner in Grandma, Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick in Berlin with Anastasia Liquid lipstick in Retro Coral in the center, as well as an extra bit of Champagne Pop Hilight in the center to give them the extra frosty look
Brows- Milani brow gel (in the pot) I'm Brunette
Bronzer- Sephora collection
Eyeshadow- A mix between two discontinued eyeshadow palettes (Smashbox and Anastasia)
Setting Powder- Cover Fx Matte Light
Setting Spray- Model in a Bottle Matte Sensetive
This look was inspired by Kelly Kapowski, I gave it a present day twist but seen photos of her from the Saved By the Bell and loved the use of oranges and very hilighted lips.
♡ Well. I am off to do a little online shopping before Monday hits, can't wait to see your fabulous looks using the color wheel, feel free to tag me in all of your looks ♡
